It’s becoming more and more apparent that I won’t be able to keep working at my current job and continue to feel challenged and fullfilled. Because of the nature of retail we’ll start prepping for back to school in two weeks and things won’t slow down until January. I know right, it’s ridiculous. So, I’m calling it. This will be my last holiday season in-store. I’ve begun actively looking at my options and by my fourth anniversary with the company I will know what my next step is and where it will take me. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated.

Has anyone ever actually listened to You Are My Sunshine past the chorus? That song is crazy depressing… I mean I get it, my mother used to sing it to me before bed every night from like birth to 4th grade. It’s why I wanted to get the record it’s included on as a present for her two mother’s days ago. However, once I started doing some research in preparation for the gift I actually listened to the entire song. It’s heart breaking. And yet there are still all these posts, like the one I reblogged here, that make it seem as though the sentiment expressed in the song is some kind of lofty romantic harbinger of happiness… it’s not.
